The Maryville College baseball team fell to 15-15 on the season with a 3-2 loss to Centre College in a non-conference mid-week challenge in Danville, Kentucky on Wednesday evening.
The Colonels went up 2-0 in the bottom of the third when Will Kirk singled to centerfield off MC reliever Josh Wolfe to score Brahm Whittinghill who earlier singled to right field. Kirk later found the plate on a sacrifice fly by Mason Falbo.

The eventual game-winner came in the sixth when Greyson Evans reached base on an MC miscue. The next pair of hitters advanced Evans and he later scored on aMatt LaPoint RBI game-clinching single to right field.
Centre (14-8) finished with four hits. MC's Zach Messinger (2-4) suffered the loss in relief when the Colonels tallied an unearned run during his 3.1 innings of work. Five Centre Colonel hurlers limited the Scots (15-15) to only three hits. Aaron Scilley (4-0) earned the win on the mound with 2.1 innings of hitless and scoreless relief. Drew Schacht recorded his first save with a perfect ninth inning.
