The Maryville College baseball team pushed across the game-winning run in the 11th inning to defeat Calvin College 4-3 on MC's Scotland Yard late Tuesday evening.
The Knights pulled made the game closer in the third inning when designated hitter Ryan Pena blasted a two-run home run onto Honaker Field to make the score 3-2 in favor of the Scots.
Calvin tied the game in the eighth inning when Miles Kuperus was hit by a Trevor Townsend pitch with the bases loaded making the score 3-3.
The Scots earned the walk-off victory in the 11th when Ian Campbell drew a one-out walk and stole second base. With a pair of outs on the scoreboard, Campbell stole third base on a low curveball and the Calvin catcher promptly threw the ball into left field to allow Campbell to scamper home with the winning run.
Maryville had an eight-hit offensive attack led by Eric Hart's 2-for-5, 1 RBI evening.
Tyler Stubbs scattered five hits over his 4.2 inning start allowing only a pair of runs. DJ Cooper had a solid 2.1 innings of one-hit relief before Trevor Townsend earned the mound victory with four innings of solid relief. Townsend did not allow a hit while striking out four.
The win advances Maryville to 12-10 on the season while Calvin falls to 4-4.
The Scots will host Mount St. Joseph University for a three-game non-conference series beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
