Randy Reichenberger led the Scots to a sweep in the Maryville College Invitational on Saturday night, as the junior recorded a goal and an assist in a 2-1 victory over Wilmington College (Ohio).
Maryville defeated Eastern Mennonite University, 2-0, on Friday night to complete the sweep.
On Saturday, Reichenberger got the Scots off to a quick start, as he scored a goal in the 30th minute of action. He took a through ball from Cody VanKershaever, depositing it in the top left corner past keeper Chris Bourque.
Reichenberger would add an assist in the 83rd minute, helping Michael Quatrano tally his first goal of the season. Reichenberger used a cross to Quatrano who used a header to the top right corner for a 2-0 Scots' lead.
Wilmington would add a goal less than a minute later. Emil Martin deposited a cross into the bottom right of the net, making the final, 2-1.
Maryville (2-0-0) only managed 12 shots for the game, with five on goal. Reichenberger, Milan Card and Jonny Rakhmonberdiev each posted two shots in the match.
Ryan Jorgensen recorded two saves in 90 minutes, while only allowing one goal.
Wilmington College (1-1-0) posted just six shots with a trio on goal. Nati Wallis had two of those with only one on goal, as Martin added the only goal of the night.
Maryville will look next to a pair of home matches on Sept. 9 and 10. The Scots will host Pfeiffer University on Saturday at 2 p.m., before opening USA South action at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
