The Lynchburg College Hornets deposited a goal in the 27th minute to give the Maryville College men's soccer squad their first loss of the season by the score of 1-0 in Lynchburg, Virginia on Saturday evening.
Lynchburg's Ayat Mohamed directed an assist to Nick Morgan who ripped a goal into the upper right of the net past MC keeper Mykal Manfred in the first half.
Both teams battled to a scoreless effort throughout the remaining 53 minutes with Lynchburg out shooting the Scots by a 10-6 advantage.
Kyle Gallagher earned the win in net for the Hornets recording only one save in 90 minutes of work.
The MC men (2-1) will travel to Roanoke College on Sunday for a 4:30 first touch against the Maroons.
