Hannah Clothier's Brace Lifts Scots past Transylvania 2-0

The Maryville College women's soccer advanced to 4-3 on the season with a hard-fought 2-0 shutout victory over Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky on Tuesday evening.

MC senior midfielder Hannah Clothier deposited a pair of goals raising her season total to four while boosting her career goal total to 14 in the orange and garnet.

The Knoxville native took a Lexie Hill pass just before the 16th minute and beat the Pioneer keeper Morgan Patton.

Clothier tallied her second goal in the 66th minute during the second half off an Emilie Guigou assist.

The Scots' Abbey Coleman earned the shutout in net to move her record to 3-3 on the season. Maryville's stingy defense allowed only six total shots, one on goal.

Maryville's offense attacked 14 times with nine shots on goal. Lexie Hill, Taylor Frizen, Jenna Clothier and Hannah Clothier each took multiple shots on the evening.

The loss moves Transylvania to 1-4 on the season.

Maryville will return to action on Saturday, September 21st when they host Emory University for a 3:00 first touch.
